Description
Quite a number of ophthalmologists have purchased or are about to
purchase the new Sony PMW-10MD full HD camera to record surgery through
the operating microscope. This camera uses a pair of SXS Express 34
solid state memory modules to record HD at 1080i with 60 frames per
second. Proprietary XDCAM compression is used allowing surgeons to
store several hours of video on one or two cards. Editing files
compressed with XDCAM and in Sony's folder structure has been a burden.
Fortunately, Sony upgraded its plug-ins and drivers for Final Cut Pro 7
and OS 10.6 making editing a joy again. This tutorial explains how to
start editing your surgical videos again.
